Network Engineer
Profile:
Our Client (500 employees in 6 countries/branches) has a vendor who provides support for network management and 2 employees onsite who do the basic network hygiene. They are missing the counterpart to the vendor, who would gain control over the network. Become the first network engineer on the client's side and do it your way. As a Network Engineer, your will maintain and secure the network, and ensure it operates correctly with minimal interruption.
Role:
Coordination, control, and monitoring of external partners/providers.
Providing support for LAN and WAN infrastructure elements such as switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and circuits.
Installation, integration, administration as well as monitoring of network components of the core sites.
Planning, preparation, and implementation of hardware and software upgrades.
Attending meetings and workshops with the client to understand requirements, challenges, and risks. Our „clients” are the branch offices in these countries: Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary (and our head office in Luxembourg). Most of the tasks can be managed remotely and just need to travel to the branches rarely (once per 3 months).
Developing technology solutions in cooperation with various technology teams using existing industry standards and best practices.
Creating design and support documentation for the delivered services with adherence to vendor’s processes and procedures.
Perform daily duties as per project requirements such as infrastructure deployment and configuration.
Provide support for L1 IT teams.
Requirements:
Have 3-5 years of experience in enterprise-level networking with extensive knowledge in routing, switching, TCP/IP protocols & load-balancing. Experience with CISCO, Checkpoint technologies is a plus.
Very good product knowledge of the leading manufacturers Cisco, Checkpoint, etc. Knowledge of major firewall platforms is a plus.
Comprehensive knowledge of the use of diagnostic tools.
Independent working style, ability to work in a team, coordination and organizational skills as well as initiative, willingness to learn, and customer orientation
Flexibility for international business trips (10%) to attend branches meetings or workshops or perform remote site installation and configuration.
Have good verbal communication skills (English) in both technical and nontechnical communications.
Have a good analytical mindset for problem-solving under stress and time pressure.
Additionally the ideal candidates:
Understand how insurance companies work.
Have experience working in distributed, international Team.
Understanding of MS Azure network configuration and standards will be an advantage.

Hybrid model: 3 days in the office, 2 days at home.
