Java developer -to become guidewire dev

Candidate’s profile

This role is a strategic hire to ensure the client can successfully design, develop and

deliver large company-wide projects within their transformation program.

The Gosu/Java Developer will work in Scrum Team together with other developers, testers

and business analysts and will be responsible for development of new features, controlling

code quality and supporting business to allow delivery of necessary implementation on

core platform and digital front-ends.

The main role of the new colleague will be to develop and maintain our core insurance

system and work closely with the business team to help convert business requirements

into new system features.

Role

  • Implementation of new features and maintenance of existing platform with strong

focus on code quality and good solution design

  • Support workstream / product owners with an estimation of time required to deliver new features

  • Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with workstream colleagues, product owners,

and all senior stakeholders to drive transparency of program workloads, financial, commitments, and expectations.


Expectations

  • At least

    • one year of experience with the Guidewire platform or

    • 3 years in JAVA programming

  • Good understanding of OOP principles and design patterns

  • Good understanding section REST API from provider/consumer perspective

  • Understanding of SQL database principles

  • Fluent English

  • Good communication skills

  • Eager to learn new technologies and solutions


Nice to have / strong assets:

  • Understanding of Guidewire data model

  • Working experience in consulting, delivery, or IT company, especially in the field of

non-life insurance
